Archives and History
The Parish registers of the diocese of Waikato are held in the John Kinder Theological Archives on behalf of the Diocese, and access is in accordance with their policies. The access policy follows closely to that issued by the Registrar General’s Office.

Because the Diocese of Waikato (which included Taranakiwas a part of the Diocese of Auckland prior to 1926, any earlier registers which covered more than the Waikato or Taranaki areas were retained in the Auckland Diocesan Archives, and copies provided to Waikato.
This is the description of the jurisdiction of the diocese. Southern portion of original Diocese of Auckland together with that area formerly part of the Diocese of Wellington generally to the north and west of a line commencing at the mouth of the Okehu Stream on the Tasman Sea, thence northerly by right line to the source of the Ahu Ahu Stream, thence south-easterly along the AhuAhu stream to the Whanganui river, northerly up the Whanganui rover to the junction with the Taurtarakaupua stream, thence south easterly by aright line to the Makatoke Viaduct on SH 4; thence to the summit of Mt Ruapehu.
The Diocese of Waikato was renamed the Diocese of Waikato and Taranaki in 2010.
